What we collect, and what we never touch

Built to the standard a security engineer would accept for a public tool. Short version: your brand picks stay in this browser unless you opt in to alerts, we cache a public settlement catalog, and we do not sell your data.

We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice. We do not file claims and we do not decide eligibility. The official notice controls if the catalog is wrong.

Brand picks on your device

The matcher stores the brands you tick, and any “claims I filed” notes you type, in this browser’s local storage. That data is not sent to our servers when you only browse or match. Clearing site data on your device deletes it.

Optional alert emails

If you opt in, we store your email address, the brand ids you chose, a consent version, and timestamps in Cloudflare D1 on the free tier. Signups start as pending until a confirmation link is used (double opt-in). Email sending is turned off in this preview, so we do not send a confirmation message yet and records stay pending. We do not sell or share this list for advertising.

Pending signups can be removed with the form on the home page. Confirmed signups will later use an unsubscribe link inside email. Rows are eligible for deletion after about 30 days if still pending, or about 365 days after last update if confirmed or unsubscribed.

There is a honeypot field on the form. We do not store IP addresses in the subscriber table; rate-limit counters use a hashed network key that expires.

Settlement catalog

We fetch the public dataset at settlesignal.com/data/settlements.json and cache it so the app can match brands without asking your browser to download the full file on every visit. Cached rows are public listings, not information about you.

What we never collect

Bank logins, full card numbers, receipts, or email inbox access.
A dossier of purchases beyond the brand ids you tick.
Passwords.

Cookies and trackers

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. Local storage is used only for the brand list and the on-device tracker.

Paid alerts

If you subscribe to ClaimPath Alerts, we store your email and the brand ids you chose so we can send double opt-in confirmation, personal match emails, and deadline reminders. We do not sell this list. Cancel billing anytime in the Stripe customer portal. One-click unsubscribe links appear in alert emails.

Server-side we only keep email + brand ids (plus Stripe customer/subscription ids for entitlement). Purchase history is never uploaded.
